Understanding Cosmetic Product Information

The label is practical information for choosing and using skincare. Cosmetic regulation also requires safety documentation and responsibilities behind the finished product.

On the label

Look for the ingredients, net contents, batch identification, relevant durability information, directions and precautions, and the required responsible entity details. Follow the information on the product you receive.

Safety documentation

In Great Britain, the Responsible Person must maintain the required Product Information File and cosmetic safety report and complete the required notification before a product is made available. These requirements do not amount to regulator endorsement.

Claims and certification

A finished-product performance claim requires appropriate evidence. A manufacturing standard, ingredient study and organic certification each answer different questions; none should be substituted for the others.

Your questions

Email support@maktafa.com with a particular formula or label question. Technical documentation can include confidential information, but the ingredients and safe-use information should remain clear to customers.
